Revlon Colourstay Whipped Creme Makeup!
Hey everyone! I purchased the Revlon Colourstay Whipped foundation yesterday. I had been thinking of buying it for quite awhile. I really didn’t need another foundation but I had heard such good reviews for this that I decided I HAD to have it. There was a special at Priceline on all Revlon foundations so I thought it would be a good opportunity to pick one up. I also picked up a primer which I will review soon.
I had no idea what colour I would be so I tested a few in store. I was deciding between two shades but I decided to go with the lighter shade, which was’Buff’, number 150. I think I’ll go back though and buy the darker shade, because when I self tan I’ll need a darker foundation.
The jar it comes in is heavy and looks really luxurious. I am a sucker for nice packaging haha.
My first thoughts when I opened it was that it was very similar to the Laura Mercier Creme Smooth foundation. It had the whipped feel to it, and appeared very light and fluffy. It kind of reminded me of paint, both in texture & smell. I prepped my skin with primer and waited for that to sink in. I then applied the foundation with my Real Techniques foundation brush and stippled it all over my face and then blended it gently. I did not use much, it is quite pigmented so a little goes a long way. I really like the finish. I thought it would be a really dewy finish however it dried to a kind of matte finish which I was surprised with. I prefer a matte finish because my skin can get a bit shiny sometimes and I like adding a glow using shimmers, bronzers etc. The coverage was very good. It gives a medium coverage but I think it can be built up to a fuller coverage. I had a few blemishes that still showed through so I buffed in some more foundation and that pretty much covered them. I did have to apply concealer over one spot, but only a bit. It claims to last 24 hours on the skin. I only wore it for a few hours last night so I can’t really confirm the staying power, but I can say that it didn’t budge at all, which is great news for a cream foundation.

I think this is a new favourite of mine! It’s a beautiful creamy foundation that covers well, and I like the way it feels on my skin. It does not cake or look ‘fake’ on the skin; it gives a really gorgeous finish. I think this would be a good foundation for those days when you need a bit more coverage, or when you are going out at night.
Have you tried this foundation? Let me know your thoughts!
