Hey everyone! It’s that time of year when it feels like everyone except me is going on an exotic holiday. I’ve had numerous friends/family jet off recently to some far flung destination and it’s enough to make a girl cry! So I’ve decided to comfort myself by putting together a post about some of my favourite travel essentials. Hopefully this will snap me out of my dreary little slump!
Some of my travel essentials.
Besides your passport and boarding pass, here is a list of items I take with me:
A facial cleanser. I normally take facial cleansing wipes as you can just take off your makeup in your seat. We all know how long the toilet queues can get.
Moisturiser. Take one that you normally use, as it’s probably not the best time to try a new one. I take either my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel or Nivea Creme.
A moisturising lip product: Skin tends to get quite dry on a long flight, so it’s important to take a good quality lip balm with you. I take Lip Eze, which I’ve been using for years.
Tissues/Hand Sanitiser: You will definitely need both to help you stay fresh and hygienic.
Hand cream. I normally have about two or three different types in my bag, as my hands tend to get really dry. I use either Palmer’s body butter or one from the Crabtree and Evelyn range.
Toothbrush/Toothpaste: This is necessary if you are on a long trip.
Mints/chewing gum: Also important to help you feel fresh.
Always include some facial wipes, hand cream, toothpaste and some hair pins/ties.
Small makeup pouch with necessary cosmetics: I normally take just the items that I can’t do without. This includes a tinted moisturiser (I always take a couple with me), concealer, a lipstick/tinted lip gloss and an eyebrow pencil. I don’t wear much makeup when I travel as I prefer my face to be as clean as possible.
Face spray: This is one product I definitely will be investing in before I go on my next trip. I am planning to purchase one from the Kora range.
Bobby pins/hair ties: I normally take a small tin filled with pins and some hair ties. I also wear a tie on my wrist.
Some reading material: A good book and a couple of magazines bought from the airport usually suffice. It’s perfect for when you get sick of watching eleven movies in a row!
This probably sounds like quite a lot to take with you, however most of the products I take are usually put into travel size containers so it doesn’t take up too much room.
I normally take my handbag as well as a backpack/tote bag. And make sure to pack a pair of cute sock slippers with you. Trust me, they will come in handy on a long flight!
