I never used to use pressed powders as I preferred a dewy finish. However, recently I’ve learned that it’s the perfect way to ‘set’ your makeup and keep it looking flawless for longer.
I’ve purchased a few pressed powders recently, and the two I use the most are the Korres Wild Rose Compact Powder in the shade ‘WRP4’ and the Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in the shade ‘Transparent’.
The Korres powder claims to brighten the face and provide a flawless finish. I do agree with this. I like to apply this after my foundation to set it into place. The colour is a medium beige shade. I bought this online so I had to guess my shade. However, I think you can use a shade that is a bit lighter or darker than your skin colour, as it’s quite sheer. This has a matte finish but does not appear powdery on the skin. It looks quite natural.
The Rimmel powder is a recent purchase and one I have been using everyday- you can tell that I’ve hit the bottom in the above photo. This is in the shade transparent, which means it doesn’t have a colour- its an invisible layer that acts to set your makeup. This is also a matte finish however, much like the Korres powder, doesn’t leave a powdery finish.
I prefer to use the Rimmel powder for daytime, and the Korres powder for nighttime.
