I purchased the SHE Pure Magic BB Cream in
the shade ‘Light to Medium’ quite awhile ago. This was an impulse buy- and I believe this is my
first SHE product. For those of you who don’t know much about this brand, it is
an Australian brand whose products are marketed as natural and nourishing. I believe their products are also paraben free and sulphate free. I have always seen this range at Priceline stores but have never purchased
anything. To be honest, none of the products have ever interested me. It is not
a brand that I have ever used nor know much about.
There was a special on at Priceline that week, whereby if you
spent $25 or more on any products in the SHE range you received a free beach
bag. I will admit that this is what caught my eye initially- the bag was extremely cute and I could see myself using it. I scanned the shelf and came
across this BB cream. I swatched the Medium to Dark shade first. I was
immediately impressed by the colour, as well as the coverage. Firstly, the
colour was a lovely brown/bronze colour, and it looked very natural. It was a
bit dark for my skin tone at the moment as I’m not as tan as usual, so I was
worried it may look too dark on me. However I would feel comfortable using this
shade when I am tanner. I swatched the Light to Medium shade next. My first
impressions was that it was a close match to my current skin tone, however it
did had a beige undertone to it. I prefer shades with a yellow undertone, as it
suits my skin better and looks more natural. If there was a shade in between it
would have been perfect. However, this product only comes in two shades. So it
would have been nice if there were a few more shades available, however, I
believe if you have lighter skin tones you could definitely make this work for
Straight out of the tube. It has a beige undertone.
The packaging states: ‘Lasting hydration, conceals imperfections, evens skin tone and anti-aging’. It also has anti-inflammatory benefits, due to the inclusion of Vitamin B3.
I was pleasantly surprised at the great coverage it provided. It was much heavier than other BB creams I had used in the past. It was
almost like a foundation, in the sense that it covered minor imperfections well. In terms of the texture, I
would say it is relatively thick and creamy, however the consistency is a bit runny.
The BB Cream blended out. As you can see, it’s a pretty good shade match.
I did build up the cream, to see if this product could be layered and
still look natural. I am happy to say that it did. It did not look cakey or too ‘made-up’; it was definitely very natural looking. This
product would work well on those days when you want a natural look, and are
having a relatively good skin day. For those times I need the extra coverage, I simply apply concealer on those pesky problem areas and it looks great. This would also work well when you want some coverage but don’t want to plaster your face with
heavy makeup. The finish is satin- like and gives the skin a nice dewy glow. I like to set it in place with a powder.
-Creamy and smooth texture; can apply easily with fingers.
-Although a limited shade range, this BB Cream would work well on
those with lighter skin tones.
-Non cakey and blends well into the skin.
-Limited shade range for those with darker skin tones.
-The product is a bit runny and comes out of the tube quite
quickly. So you will end up using more product than you need.
If all of the OM SHE Aromatherapy products are this good I would definitely be interested in trying other items from the range.
