I’m constantly on the lookout for the perfect foundation. I have a few staples that I always go back to but I’m always on the lookout for something better. I guess it’s the ‘grass is always greener’ syndrome!
L’Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Stay Fresh Foundation in Golden Beige.
I was in Priceline recently and stumbled across a new foundation by L’Oreal. It’s the Infallible 24 Hour Stay Fresh Foundation in the shade ‘Golden Beige’. I tested a few shades in Priceline and actually left the store, just to see how the the shades looked away from the fluorescent lighting. I decided that the shade ‘Golden Beige’ number 140 matched my skin the closest. I have a light olive complexion, with a yellow undertone, just to give you an idea of my colouring.
This foundation claims to provide the following:
>No visible imperfections
>No visible shine
It really sounds like the perfect foundation. Do I think it lives up to these claims? I think so. The foundation feels light on the skin, yet manages to cover quite well. I firmly believe the coverage is medium. It could probably be built up to a heavier coverage; I’m yet to try this but I think it’s possible without looking mask-like. The consistency is quite thick; it’s not a runny formula. I prefer this type of consistency as it’s easier to work with and blend out. The finish is a cross between a satin and a matte. It actually reminds me of the NARS Sheer Glow foundation; it goes on as a dewy foundation but then dries to a satin/matte finish (somewhere in between). I normally apply about half a pump which I find covers my face quite well. However, if you prefer a heavier coverage you could apply one full pump. I use either my fingers or my Real Techniques foundation brush to apply.

As for the colour match, Golden Beige is pretty close to my natural skin colour. As the name suggests, it does have a beige undertone, but it’s not an ‘obvious’ undertone. It matches my skin quite well.
The foundation blended out.
The only thing I dislike about this foundation is the pump it comes with! It is a very cheap looking pump and doesn’t dispense the product fluidly. It almost has a mechanical feel to it. Obviously this is not a big problem; it’s just that L’Oreal always have beautiful packaging and this one in particular is a bit disappointing. However, mine could just be faulty.
Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?
