Today I’ll be talking about one of my favourite eyeshadows- the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows! I own two shades: Bad to the Bronze and Pomegranate Punk. These came out quite awhile ago and I absolutely love love love them! The formula is quite unique as they are technically a cream formula, but have the staying power of a powder. However, they are creamy enough to blend, and the pigmentation is wonderful.
From left: Bad to the Bronze and Pomegranate Punk. Sooo gorgeous!
Bad to the Bronze is a bronze shade, as the name suggests. It has little flecks of gold shimmer throughout, which gives the eyeshadow a gold cast. It can be applied lightly to the eyelids for a wash of colour or built up to a very deep bronze. I love that you can control the intensity, as this allows you to create many different looks.
Pomegranate Punk is a beautiful berry shade, with gold shimmer throughout. It is quite an intense colour, and looks gorgeous built up to a dark berry shade. This is a perfect eyeshadow to wear in Winter for a sultry look. Team it with a dark berry lipstick and lots of black mascara.
I really like the packaging of these products. The screw top lid ensures the cream formula doesn’t dry out. The top layer does get a bit dry at times, however it softens once you mix it with your finger or a brush. In terms of application, I believe a primer is needed on the eyelid, as I feel this makes the creamy formula stay in place for longer. I typically use my finger to pat the eye shadow on the lid, as I believe this warms the product up and helps to blend it in smoothly. Sometimes I even use these eye shadows as a base. I’ll pat a light layer on, and then add a powder eye shadow in a similar colour over the top. This is just one of many ways I use these eye shadows!
