The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil!

Hey everyone!

Today I’ll be talking about one of my favourite cleansers- The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil. This is a relatively new product from The Body Shop, and I believe it is part of a camomile-based range of skincare.

The packaging on the bottle state: ‘Effortlessly lifts away impurities and even removes waterproof make-up’. As the name suggests, it’s an oil based cleanser. It is aimed at all skin types, however after speaking to the salesperson at The Body Shop, she did suggest that those with an oily complexion would benefit more from the cream based cleanser in the range. I do have combination skin, and I was a bit hesitant at applying an oil to my already oily skin, however this has not been a problem for me. I believe people with all skin types would not have a problem using this.

This oil lifts away all traces of makeup and grime from the face. I cannot emphasize how clean my skin is after using this oil. In terms of application, I normally squirt out one pump into my hand and warm the oil between my hands. I then press it onto my face and massage the oil all over my face, including my eyes and neck. If I’m wearing eye makeup, I’ll spend extra time massaging the eye area. Because the oil is so silky, it doesn’t pull or tug at the eyes. This oil is meant to be used in conjunction with a facial cloth for removal. I did purchase a facial cloth from The Body Shop which was recommended to me by the salesperson, however I prefer to use a facial wipe to remove the oil. This is simply a personal preference; a facial cloth or a flannel cloth would also be effective.

Once I’ve removed the oil from my face, I squirt some Garnier Cleansing Water onto a cotton ball and swipe it over my face. My face is left totally clean and fresh.

Cleansing oils are a great alternative to the typical cream/gel cleansers. Not only do they melt away grime and makeup, they also nourish the skin whilst cleaning it.

Have you tried an oil based cleanser? Did you like/dislike it?
