I came across the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water when I was in Priceline a few months ago. I was in the market for a new
face cleaner and almost reached for the milk cleanser. I saw this product instead
and my first thought was ‘I need this product in my life’! I have always been
interested in a water cleanser, and it seems very French and chic to me. I have
been using this product for about six months so I feel I am well equipped to
write a review on it.
Product Description: All in 1. Suitable for all skin tones. Removes makeup + cleanses+ soothes. No rinsing needed. Suitable for face, eyes, lions. Perfume free.
Review: This product is quite unique, in that you squirt some onto a
cotton ball or pad and wipe your face with it. You do not rinse your face. The
product is meant to wipe away all traces of makeup, grime etc. Now, I don’t
feel comfortable cleaning my face exclusively with this- I normally do a pre
cleanse in the shower and then either wash it again when I get out, or wipe my
skin with a toner to get rid of any excess grime. It’s not that I wear much
makeup; it’s more that I want to remove any leftover residue in case I had
missed it the first time around. So I have been washing my face in the shower
with my usual Neutrogena cleanser, and then wiping my face with some of this
soaked into a cotton ball. I normally repeat this step twice, or until the
cotton ball comes away clean.I can
confirm that is product is great. It really does take off any excess residue
left on the skin, and it is very gentle on the skin. There is no tugging or
rubbing required. It really is like washing your face with water. I even tested
it on some mascara that I had left on my eyelashes, and I did not have to rub
hard to take it off. It dissolved the mascara quite easily. Since some eye
makeup is so difficult to take off, it is nice to find a product that although
is not specifically designed for eye makeup removal, does a very nice job of
removing it. I don’t know about you, but having to use a separate product to
take off eye makeup is kind of a pain. I would rather use one product, as
opposed to two.
You can see it looks exactly like water.
I would say this product would be suitable for all skin types, as stated. It is extremely gentle and soothing on the skin and I don’t believe this product would cause any irritation, unless your skin is extremely sensitive. I also like the fact that it doesn’t leave a film or any
residue on the skin; my face is left totally clean and ready for the next step
of my skincare regime. In terms of scent, it doesn’t really smell like anything, it just has a kind of ‘cleanser’ scent.
This product has become a daily staple in my skincare routine and I will definitely repurchase when I run out. If you are after a gentle yet effective cleanser, I would recommend trying the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.
Have you tried this product or any other cleansing water?
