Happy Christmas Eve!
Gifts are wrapped, baking is (almost) done and I’m getting into the Christmas spirit with a glass or two of sangria. I still feel like I’ve got a million things to do, but I think I’ll worry about that tomorrow.
I’ve received a few gifts from friends and colleagues which I’ve opened already (naughty I know). One of them is the Too Faced Beauty Wishes & Sweet Kisses palette. I haven’t used it yet however I thought I’d blog about my first impressions.
My heart stopped when I saw this Mecca Maxima bag…
First off, this palette is incredibly cute. I absolutely love the design on the tin; it’s really girly and whimsical. The kit includes three eye shadows, two bronzers and a lip gloss. The eyeshadows are from the Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection and includes the shades ‘White Chocolate’, ‘Creme Brulee’ and ‘Haute Chocolate’. The bronzers come in the shades ‘Chocolate Soleil Bronzer’ and ‘Snow Bunny Bronzer’. The lip gloss is a new product called ‘La Creme Lip Gloss’ in the shade Naked Dolly.
The How-To Glamour Guide.
Also included is a ‘How-To Glamour Guide‘, which shows a step by step guide on how to apply the products for day, night and after hours. I’m not too technical with makeup; I tend to apply it very casually. However, I think the guide is a really cute idea and I’ll definitely try it out.
The eyeshadows from left to right: White Chocolate, Creme Brulee and Haute Chocolate. White Chocolate is a matte shade while Creme Brulee and Haute Chocolate are shimmery shades.
The La Creme Lip Gloss in the ‘shade Naked Dolly’. It’s a light peachy/nude shade with awesome shine.
This palette is great for travel, as it pretty much includes everything you’ll need for some holiday glamour. It’s also small in size so it wouldn’t take up much space in your luggage.
One thing to mention about this palette is that it’s suited for fairer/medium tones. The shades are quite light so they probably wouldn’t show up as well on darker skin tones.
I can’t wait to use the eyeshadows for a chocolate smoky eye; it would look gorgeous against tanned skin. I’ve used the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer before and I really like it. It’s a nice, soft matte bronzer that doesn’t show up muddy on the skin. The lip gloss is a pretty peachy/nude shade; I’m hoping it will suit my skin tone (some nude shades wash me out). As for the Snow Bunny Bronzer, it’s made up of four shades: cream, bronze, light pink and a light chocolate brown. The shades are meant to be swirled together to create a light bronzer, however I plan to use the colours individually as eye shadows too.
Have you tried out any of these products? What did you think?
