I’m not one to spend a fortune on hair products. To be honest, I usually turn to my stash of samples (thanks Bellabox) and travel sized shampoos and conditioners, as I rarely buy full sized products. I recently got the chance to sample the OGX Healing + Vitamin E Shampoo and Conditioner via Bellabox and I think I’ve found my favourite shampoo ever!
What is it: The OGX Healing + Vitamin E Shampoo and Conditioner.
Product information: This nutrient rich shampoo and conditioner helps to heal dry, damaged hair, restoring moisture and shine.
My review: I’ll quickly give you a background on my hair type, as just because this product works for me it might not work for you. I have very straight, thick hair which is quite heavy. It gets easily matted and weighed down, so I am always looking for a product that adds volume to my hair. The top gets flat very easily (argh, I hate flat hair!). It can get oily at the roots so I often look for shampoos specifically designed for oily/combination hair. The ends of my hair can get dry and I rarely use styling tools (sometimes I use a hairdryer after washing my hair, and I use a straightener every now and then, but not on a regular basis). In summary, I have pretty healthy hair but as I mentioned, it can get weighed down and fall flat very easily.
I like shampoos that feel like they clean my hair; I really like that squeaky clean feeling. I find that these type of shampoos don’t make my hair as oily and I can go about 2-3 days without washing it.
As mentioned above, Bellabox recently included travel sized products of the OGX Healing + Vitamin E Shampoo and Conditioner. I had never heard of this brand and it just looked like an ordinary shampoo to me. I wasn’t expecting anything great; I thought at most, I could use it for travel or when my regular shampoo ran out.
I was using this sample for about two weeks and it worked incredibly well on my hair. It’s probably the best shampoo I’ve ever used to date. When I was in Woolworths recently, I saw that the OGX range was half price. It was still pretty expensive ($8.99) but I knew it worked for my hair so I bought a bottle.
I love the way this cleanses and gives my hair plenty of body and movement. It does dry my hair out slightly but I find that this actually works well for my hair type. I can go about two or three days without washing it, and I find my hair sits better than usual.
