Melbourne is absolutely freezing today! So far, we’ve had rain, hail and wind. Yesterday was a really nice, mild day so it’s a stark contrast. Today is the perfect day to stay in, read a book or watch a good movie. I did manage to rug up and venture outside for a late breakfast and a stroll around Brunswick though. There are so many great little stores around there, especially the Alannah Hill factory outlet. If you love her clothing but find the prices too high, I highly recommend checking this place out. I’ve bought skirts for under $50 and cardigans for much less. There is a huge range, so you’ll need to set aside some time to browse through the stock.
I also picked up three books last week.
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. I’ve heard a lot about this book and it sounded good so I bought a copy.
The Vale Girl by Nelika McDonald. This was a random purchase. The storyline sounds interesting.
House Rules by Jodi Picoult. She’s one of my favourite authors and I’ve read just about every one of her novels. This novel is about a young boy with Asberger’s syndrome who finds himself accused of a crime.
I’m halfway through the novel I bought two weeks ago; Only in New York by Lily Brett. It’s a collection of short stories Lily has put together about life in New York. Lily Brett was raised in Carlton, Melbourne, but later moved to New York with her husband and kids. Her parents were Holocaust survivors, which makes it all the more interesting. I love reading about life in New York, so I’m really enjoying this book!
I saw this picture today and I’m in love! It’s the perfect apartment. One day, when I’m living in New York, I want an apartment like this. I can dream…
How did you spend Sunday?
