Do you ever purchase makeup, admire it, use it and then stash it away right at the back of your makeup cabinet? And then one day you decide to browse through your makeup stash and find a whole heap of products that you forgot you owned? Well, this happens to me frequently. I guess it’s one of the problems you face when you’re a bit of a beauty product junkie. On the upside, it saves you a trip to Priceline; you can window shop in the comfort of your own home!
I’ve been meaning to organise my makeup collection for the longest time, and I plan to put some time away this weekend to do so. I decided to start with my makeup stand and while I was checking what I had stored in the drawers, a few products caught my eye. These are products that I really liked and I really do need to start using them again. I definitely need to restart my rotating makeup system; I used to do this weekly and I really got a lot of use out of my products.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo. It’s a bit darker than it appears above.
The first product that caught my eye was the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade ‘Monte Carlo‘. This is a beautiful, vampy red shade that would look great in Winter. It’s definitely bold and not for the faint hearted!
Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Tease
Next up is the Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in the shade ‘Tease‘. It’s a beautiful glossy red shade and is great for when you want a soft look. It’s also incredibly easy to apply, thanks to the crayon style design.
The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer.
The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer is a cult product and adored by many. It’s one of those products that suits pretty much everyone and is perfect for giving you that soft candlelit glow (kind of how JLo always looks!). I think I’ll be packing this one with me on my European holiday.
The JLo glow…
Savvy Mineral Baked Eyeshadow in Ultra Violet.
I love lilac eye shadow, especially the Savvy Mineral Baked Eyeshadow in the shade ‘Ultra Violet‘. It’s an awesome soft lilac shade and looks beautiful applied around the eye area for an ethereal look. Savvy is a really affordable brand and they have a great product range.
Smooch Blusher in Sugar Rush.
The Smooch Blusher in the shade ‘Sugar Rush’ is a product that I discovered whilst browsing a discount makeup store. I picked up two shades; Sugar Rush and Kookie Krumble. Sugar Rush is a shade I love each time I wear it; it’s a beautiful vibrant pink and gives you a naturally flushed glow. The Smooch blushers have great packaging (similar to Nars), and look more expensive than they actually are (I think I paid about $4 each). If you’re after a good quality blush with great pigment, it’s worth checking these out.
