REVIEW: Swept Away by Bare Minerals – my first impressions!

Don’t you just love travel sized products? I know I do. My friend gifted me with this Bare Minerals 5-piece deluxe mini brush collection for Christmas and it is adorable! True story: I never used to use brushes to apply makeup. It was only up until a few years ago that I bought a proper brush set and I haven’t looked back since. And to think I used my fingers to apply products all those years ago- ugh cringe!

Anyway, onto the review!

This kit includes four mini sized brushes, housed in a small red pouch.

The brushes included are:

Mini Soft Focus Face Brush. This brush buffs in just the right amount of colour, providing an even coverage.

Mini Angled Face Brush. This is designed to contour and define cheeks.

Mini Soft Sweep Eye Brush. This tapered eye brush applies, blends and contours.

Mini Precision Smudge Brush. This pointed eye brush details and lines the eyes.

All of these brushes are designed to be used in conjunction with bareMinerals products.

Love the gold key charm <3

The brushes are of really good quality. I used the bareMinerals foundation years ago, and I remember loving the brush that came with it. Their brushes are quite dense, so it really helps to buff the product into the skin. The brushes also look and feel very luxurious; the gold handles give an elegant look and I like how they feel when holding them; very timeless and classic.

This kit is a great addition when travelling, as the small size means you won’t take up much space in your makeup bag. Most of my brushes are normal sized (long handles), so they don’t always fit in my make up bag. I suppose I could buy a bigger makeup bag, but I always travel with the same one; it’s become sort of a good luck charm for me.

I’m yet to try out the brushes, so this is only my first impressions review. I plan to use them over the weekend so I’ll post my thoughts then!

What brushes do you use?
