Happy Monday! Did everyone have a good weekend? I did some clothes shopping at my favourite place, the Alannah Hill warehouse in Brunswick and bought a beautiful dress that I’d tried on a few weeks ago but didn’t purchase at the time. When you can’t stop thinking about an item, you know you have to buy it! I wore the dress to a 30th birthday party on Saturday night, and I plan to wear it again to my birthday dinner in a few weeks.
I also got up to season 5 on Gossip Girl. I know that’s not really any sort of accomplishment, but I thought I’d mention it all the same! I cannot wait to find out what happens, but I’m also sad that the end is approaching : (
Last Monday, I was a model (very loose term) for a friend who is completing a makeup course at the Tamarua Beauty Academy, which is located in Point Cook, Melbourne. Each week brings a different makeup theme/look, and last week’s theme was all about the ‘hooded’ eyes. Hence why I was asked to come along!
Upon walking in, I was greeted by the following sight:
My happy place…
This was just a snippet of the makeup; there was much, much more.
The makeup tutorial included a full face of makeup and it took my friend about an hour to complete. I was lucky enough to receive a full set of false eye lashes, as well as try out the Hourglass Ambient Powders.
Here was the final result:
I love the way my friend applied the gel eye liner. I did not want to wash it off.
A front view. This is a funny angle, but it shows the eye makeup off really well!
Although I rarely wear heavy makeup, it was nice to feel like a model for a few hours and let someone else apply my makeup. I also picked up a few tips from the teachers, especially on how to apply eye liner and how to get the perfect brow!
My friend used some eye shadows from the below Inglot palette. I fell in love with these particular shades, so much that I asked if this particular palette was for sale already made up. Sadly, it wasn’t, however I took a photo so I plan to go to Inglot to try to replicate it. There was a similar Inglot palette for sale, however it was more neutral based, and I’ve already got the Naked 2 palette for that.
I absolutely love these shades!
Hope you enjoy reading!
