I love a good day spa. Especially because I rarely have one (maybe once or twice a year) so when I have one booked, I really look forward to it!
I received a really generous gift voucher for my birthday for the Breeze Beauty Spa in Altona so I was able to book in both a facial and massage (click here to read my previous experience at Breeze Beauty Spa). I chose the Essential Breeze Facial (45 minutes) and the Swedish Massage (30 minutes). I was a bit worried about the massage as I can’t just gave any type of massage (I have some back issues). I can’t have ‘relaxing’ massages for this reason, plus I’m really ticklish so basically anything less than a remedial massage will make me very jumpy.
So I was a bit nervous but it worked out fine.

The waiting area. It’s so serene. |
My appointment was at 9am and after being offered some herbal tea, I was taken into the room to begin the treatment. My therapist was Amanda and she was so friendly and put me at ease right away.

The products. I want them all. |
We started off with the massage. I’d never had a Swedish massage before so I didn’t know what to expect. Basically it’s a massage with a lot of oil! Amanda did a really good job of working all of those tense knots out. I woke up sore on Sunday so I feel like it worked.
The facial was next and it was just as good as I’d remembered. The thing I like about this spa is that the therapists are very hard working and really try to offer a great experience. In between various stages of the facial, Amanda gave scalp, neck and hand massages which was heavenly!
The facial was a bit painful as I had to have some extractions done. But it was worth it as my skin looked and felt so clear afterwards.
I had some money left over on the gift card so I bought the O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 30+ in the untinted version. I wanted the tinted version but the spa had run out of stock so I bought the untinted version instead. I tried it out today and I really like it. It doesn’t leave my skin greasy like a lot of sunscreens do. I plan to review it after I’ve used it for a few weeks, so stay tuned for that!
Where do you go for your facials?
