REVIEW: The Body Shop's Coconut Body Milk

As you probably know, I’m obsessed with coconuts. I use coconut oil on my skin, I drink coconut water and yep, you’ve guessed it, I eat it too. Anything that has coconut in it, I’m sold.

I’ve been a long time user of the coconut range at The Body Shop, yet up until recently, I had never tried their coconut body milk. My sister recently gave me a full sized bottle of the Coconut Body Milk, and naturally I’ve become a huge fan.

The product: The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk.

Product information: This easily absorbed lotion includes Community Fair Trade virgin coconut oil from Samoa. It’s light and easily absorbed, leaves skin feeling soft and smooth and has a fresh coconut scent.

My review: I used to gravitate towards heavier moisturisers such as body butters but now I prefer lotion formulas.  I find them so much easier and quicker to apply. If I feel like my skin needs extra moisture I’ll use a body butter but for everyday use I prefer a product that’s easy to apply and absorbs quickly. It also helps that this body milk has a nozzle so you can spray it directly onto the skin and rub it in.

Being a milk, this has a very runny formula. It’s basically a condensed version of the Coconut Body Butter, however I don’t feel like it’s any less moisturising. I’ve used it during the cold weather and my skin felt well moisturised and silky smooth after applying. I’m yet to try it out during the Melbourne winter so I’ll update this post with my thoughts.

I normally apply this after having a shower. I spray directly onto my skin and rub it in quickly. My skin absorbs the product immediately and leave me feeling silky smooth. It’s also a great moisturiser to use before applying a self tanner, as it helps to smooth the tanner onto the skin.

As for the scent, it leaves a very mild coconut scent on the skin.

If I were to pack any body moisturiser for a holiday it would definitely be this one. It would be extremely easy to decanter to a travel sized bottle, due to its runny formula. Last year I took the Coconut Body Butter with me to Europe and while I used it everyday, it did take up space in my toiletry bag. So I feel like the Coconut Body Milk would be more travel friendly.

Have you tried this moisturiser? What do you normally use?
