Who doesn’t love a good mask, especially in Winter? Like most, my skin can get dry and feel tight during the colder months and I often need to add extra products to my skincare routine to keep it moist and hydrated. I normally use serums, oils and masks to combat this.
Recently Bellabox included the Hydrating Facial Masque by Sukin in one of their boxes. I was actually after a new mask as the last one I used reacted badly to my skin (it was a Kora mask, which was a real shame because I love the Kora range). I think I last had a mask at my facial at Breeze Beauty, which was months ago. So I was due for one!
Product: Sukin Hydrating Facial Masque.
Product Information: combining mango seed butter and avocado oil to protect the skin’s moisture barrier, with pineapple and papaya extracts for a nourished complexion. Suitable for all skin types.
My review: I used the masque last Sunday night. I applied a generous amount to my skin and lay down for 10-15 minutes (I caught up with some blog reading). I didn’t experience any tingling or burning; it felt very pleasant and soothing. Afterwards, I rinsed it off with warm water and patted dry.
Afterwards, my skin felt nice and moisturised. I didn’t notice a huge difference, but my skin definitely felt more hydrated. Sometimes after I’ve used a mask, my skin has felt tight and dried out however I did not experience this with this mask.
I feel like this mask is great if you want an extra shot of moisture. It’s easy to apply, feels nice and cooling on the skin and it does help to hydrate the skin. It also did not irritate my skin at all.
Lately I’ve been turning to more natural based beauty and skin products. I’ve always had a huge interest in naturally derived products, especially those made in Australia. Over the last couple of years I’ve tried out a lot of natural Australian brands and I’ve noticed a difference to my skin; I’ve had less irritation and my breakouts have completely reduced. I’ve been thinking of making a change to this blog, and focusing more on those types of products. Stay tuned for more details…

***Update: I used this mask again and it really irritated my skin. I left it on for around ten minutes and when I washed it off my skin was left extremely red and angry looking. It took about an hour to calm down. It’s for this reason that I won’t be using this mask again.
