Didn’t it feel like April came and went in a blink of an eye? When the tracking email for the May Bellabox popped into my inbox all I could think was ‘already???’
I’ve mentioned recently that I’ve been steering towards natural based makeup and skincare. A lot more thought goes into my beauty purchases these days and while I’m in no way an expert, I do try to steer clear of products that contain a whole lot of ingredients. My skin has always been slightly sensitive and it seems to react to makeup that is quite heavy. So these days I try to keep it very light and minimal.
The theme this month was Conscious Beauty and many of the products included were natural based. I was really excited to see what products were included.
Eyeshots Under Eye Collagen Mask. This eye mask helps with dark under eye circles. I have a feeling I received this in a previous Bellabox, and I remember I really liked it. Long days at the office and lack of sleep has given me dark under eye circles for the first time in my life (or maybe I never noticed it before). Either way, if this mask helps to get rid of those pesky circles then I’ll definitely be trying it out.
Derma E Purifying 2-1 Charcoal Mask. This mask helps to draw out any impurities and detoxifies the skin. Charcoal seems to be all the rage at the moment. I’ve heard of people applying it to their faces as well as drinking it with water (?). The only thing I’ve ever done with it is to sketch (back in my high school days I was quite the artist ha ha). I have tried a similar mask from the Origins line. I’m sure it also contained charcoal and it helped with detoxifying the skin. I’ll be trying this mask out.
Aroma Magic Anti-Pigmentation Glossy Pack. This is packed with 5 powerful natural active extracts and will lighten the complexion, heal blemishes deeply moisturise and calm skin. Whew, that’s quite a promise! This sounds interesting to me; I had no idea what a glossy pack was; to be honest I thought it was a hair treatment. I’m really interested to try this out, especially of it helps with blemishes.
Burt’s Bees Lip Balm. Burt’s Bees lip balms help to moisturise, nourish and hydrate the lips. I’ve used a few products from this brand and I am a huge fan. Plus I was after a new lip balm. I received it in the flavour Pink Grapefruit and it smells so good!
Karen Murrell Lipstick. There wasn’t much information about this product on the Bellabox information card, but there was on the actual product itself. Karen Murrell are a natural company from product to packaging. Everything is recyclable, from the lipstick canister to the box. The lipstick itself does not contain any mineral oils, animal based material, parabens or preservatives. I really like the philosophy of this company and its also a great feeling knowing that beauty doesn’t have to cost the earth. I plan to look into this brand some more. I received this lipstick in a beautiful dusty rose shade.
Bonus: Avon Nutra Effects Radiance Day Cream and Renewing Night Cream. Is it just me or have Avon produced some great products recently? My mum used to buy Avon years ago and would always buy my sister and myself products to try out. I guess you could say I grew up with Avon. It’s a great brand and more importantly, their products are of really high quality.
Bonus: Derma E $5 discount coupon. I’ll see how I go with the charcoal mask; if I like it I’ll check out the rest of the range.
Bonus: Vaniday Gift Card. Vaniday is a website that allows you to book your beauty treatments online. I hopped onto the Vaniday website and was amazed at how many services there are to choose from. The $20 gift card is really generous and I plan to use it soon.
