REVIEW: Mineral Pro spf30+ Triple Defence Protection by O Cosmedics

Living in Australia, I learnt early on just how important it is to protect the skin against the sun. The sun is harsh, even in winter so it’s crucial to get into the habit of wearing sunscreen on a daily basis. I started wearing it everyday when I was around 21 years of age, however I wished I’d started earlier to be honest. Not because I have sun damage, but because I know it will make all the difference in years to come.

Over the years I’ve tried many, many brands of sunscreen and I never scrimped on the price. Most of my tinted moisturisers contain sunscreen, and my favourites would have to be the Origins Vita Zing (you can read my review here) and the Clinique Super City Block (I’ve gone through countless tubes). Neutrogena make a great everyday sunscreen too.

I recently purchased the O Cosmedics Mineral Pro Triple Defense Protection spf30 in the untinted version. A beauty therapist had recommended it to me a while ago, as I was in the market for a new sunscreen. I’ve used this product for a few weeks now and feel ready to write my thoughts.

Product: O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF30+ Triple Defense Protection.

Product information: Sheer lightweight formula delivers triple defense protection. Natural mineral zinc oxide provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Resveratrol and palmitoyl oligopeptide rejuvenate and revitalise the skin. Suitable for all skin types.

Review: I apply this every morning, after my moisturer and before my foundation. It does not leave a greasy residue on my skin, and it sinks in right away so you don’t need to wait around to let it absorb. I squeeze out a grape sized amount, and this is more than enough to cover my face and neck.

The formula is quite thick but once applied to the face it’s easy to work into the skin. Because I have the untinted version, it does not provide any coverage so I normally apply a BB cream over it. I also apply foundation (during the week for work) and I feel like the sunscreen acts as a sort of primer; the foundation glides on smoother and leaves the skin with a dewy glow.

Another great thing about this sunscreen is that it didn’t irritate my skin or break me out. This might not be a issue for some, but for those of us with sensitive/acne prone skin, it’s pretty important! I’ve used sunscreens in the past that have turned my face into a hot mess, leaving me with pimples and irritation, so the fact that this product didn’t do that is a major plus.

I am a huge fan of this sunscreen. It does everything a sunscreen should do, and to top it off, it doesn’t irritate the skin or leave the face greasy and it has a pleasant scent. I like it so much that I’ll be purchasing the tinted version this week. I think I’ve found my favourite sunscreen.

Have you tried this product? Let me know!
