My Winter Hair Tips

I love winter. I love cosy nights in, sipping on hot tea (actually, I do this all year round) and soaking in Lush filled baths. One thing I don’t love about winter however, is how it can wreck havoc with our hair, transforming once-upon-a-time silky locks into dry, knotty hair. It’s really important to add extra products into our everyday routine, to prevent frizz and dullness and keep our hair moisturised and healthy. I’ve incorporated some extra products into my haircare routine, and the best part is, they don’t require much effort at all.

First up is the Pantene Pro V 3 Minute Miracle. I came across this conditioner at Chemist Warehouse and picked it up for around $3. It is used in lieu of your regular conditioner and provides the hair with an extra shot of moisture, leaving it soft and shiny. I use this right after shampooing, and only apply it to the ends of my hair. After rinsing it off after a couple of minutes, my hair is left silky smooth and more manageable.

I was given the Cortec Thermotec Heat Treatment to try out recently. This is a leave in treatment, specifically targeted towards hair that is regularly exposed to heat, and helps to condition, replenish and repair the hair. It is applied after shampooing from roots to ends, left on for 1 to 2 minutes and rinsed off. It is a weekly treatment, however it can be used daily for extremely damaged hair. This product was really effective for me; my hair felt strong after use, and the ends were well moisturised. This treatment would work really well on damaged hair and hair that lacks moisture.

The last product is the Schwarzkopf Sea Salt Beach Look Texture Spray. This is more of a styling product than treatment, however it gives incredible results and who doesn’t want beachy waves during winter? This helps to mimic the natural, tousled look we get from spending time at the beach. You apply this product to towel dried hair and then scrunch or tousle it for the ultimate beach babe look. I’ve tried many sea salt sprays in the past and I feel this one has been the most effective. I used it recently and it gave my hair amazing volume, which is usually difficult with my heavy, thick hair! Highly recommend this spray, especially if you’re wanting to add some texture to your hair.
