Being a beauty blogger, I love experimenting with different brands and am always on the lookout for the next best thing. I rarely buy the same product twice because life is simply too short, so when I do go back to buy it the second time that is very telling! Today I’ll be sharing my favourite products that I have or will be purchasing again. When I love a brand I tend to stick to it, and I’m more likely to try out the range within the brand than look elsewhere. Of course, I don’t love every product I try out but I believe that is part of the fun! Here are my never-fail, foolproof beauty products:
Liquid Perfecting foundation with SPF15. I’ve blogged about this foundation previously
and am currently up to my fourth bottle. This is the perfect everyday
foundation as it ticks all of the boxes: provides a flawless coverage, contains
an SPF and lasts all day. I use the shade Honey Beige and it’s the perfect fit
for my light yellow toned skin. Trust me when I say this foundation is a must! Arbonne unfortunately isn’t sold instore so you’ll need to find a consultant. If you’re in Melbourne feel free to email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I can refer you on to a consultant : )
Highlighting Kit in Precious Metals 029. This is a new favourite skin highlighter.
It’s a steal at $24.95 and contains three beautiful, creamy highlighters and a
shimmery bronzer. All are very blendable and the shades are subtle enough to wear during the day too. I normally buy Sleek from Target but many stores don’t have the full range (especially around Melbourne). Online store Crush Cosmetics is another option.
Rimmel Super Curler 24hr mascara. I am so fussy when it comes to mascara, so when I find one I like I stick to it. Bellabox included this mascara in one of their boxes a few months ago and it has quickly come a favourite. It has a curved brush which perfectly suits my eye shape and elongates my lashes, making them look long and thick. The only downside is that is clumps a bit so I have to wipe the wand with a tissue before using it. But other than that, it’s a great mascara and I highly recommend it! Rimmel is stocked at most major department stores as well as Priceline and Woolworths.
Mac Zoomlash Mascara. I bought this on a whim a few months back but didn’t love it. I put it aside and stuck to my Lancôme mascara. When that ran out, I pulled this out one morning and haven’t looked back. Like the Rimmel mascara, it is slightly clumpy so I have to wipe it before use. But that is no problem because it seriously lengthens my lashes to Bambi size. It really emphasises my eyes and frames them beautifully. I’ll be putting a photo up on Instagram soon to show the before and after difference of this mascara. If you have medium to long lashes I highly recommend this mascara, just because it adds wonderful drama to the eyes.
Mac Bronzer. I used to use MAC quite a bit back in my uni days but I’ve branched out to other brands since then. I recently picked up the Matte Bronzer by MAC and it’s a perfect fit for my skin tone. The great thing about MAC is the sheer amount of colours and shades they have and you’re bound to find your exact match. I like this matte bronzer because you can both bronze and contour the face. MAC is stocked at Myer, David Jones and stand alone MAC stores around Melbourne.
This is a totally organic, natural makeup range with a small vegan collection to boot. I
was first introduced to Ere Perez via a friend and I haven’t looked back since.
I’ve tried quite a few of their products out and I use some on a daily basis.
My top picks are the Pure Rice Powder Bronze Tones, Sun Halo Versatile Vanilla Highlighter (seriously amazing!) and the Natural Rosehip Oil Lipbar range (the most nourishing lipsticks ever!). If you are after natural based makeup with no nasty ingredients I highly recommend Ere Perez. You can shop online or find the nearest stockist near you-Terra Madre in Northcote stock the full range and Ozsale occasionally have the entire range on sale so keep an eye out!
Clinique Exfoliating Scrub. I’ve tried many a scrub in my day and this has to be one of my favourites. It really gives the skin a thorough exfoliation and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. After a few days, my skin tends to go flaky around my forehead and nose so I try to scrub around twice a week. After using this, my skin always feels fresh and flake-free. It’s also a great product to use right before applying self tan to the face. The 7- day scrub by Clinique is also fantastic. You can pick up Clinique from all major department stores as well as some chemists around Melbourne.
