REVIEW: Sugar Rose by MOR

I’ve been a longtime fan of the MOR brand, and over the years have tried everything from their soaps to hand creams. In fact, I still use their Belladonna Perfume Oil instead of regular perfume, because it is hands down my favourite scent ever (I find regular perfume too overpowering).

I recently received an invite to celebrate the opening of MOR’s Flagship store in Melbourne. I wasn’t able to make it (insert a sad face here) however I was lucky enough to receive a care package from some kind PR people, containing some beautiful MOR products hooray!

Bag of goodies! It is so nice to receive a hand written note!

The Sugar Rose scent is described as a ‘subtle blend of soft, sugary rose, exotic tiger lily and ripe tropical fruits‘. I like how the rose scent isn’t too overpowering, and doesn’t have that powdery scent like some rose scented products tend to have (do you know that one that I’m talking about?). It’s a light, pleasant scent to use on an everyday basis, and would be perfect for scenting a bathroom or a bedroom.

Here’s what was included:

From left: Hand & Body Wash, Body Polish and Hand & Body Lotion

The Hand & Body Wash is hydrating and leaves the skin feeling soft and refreshed. The Body Polish contains really fine exfoliating beads, which is perfect for gently removing dry skin. I love how light the Hand & Body Lotion is, perfect for everyday use.

From left: Hand Cream, Triple-Milled Soap Bar and Fragrant Candle

I was after a new Hand Cream, so this came at the right time. It’s infused with coconut and sesame seeds oils, and leaves my hands smelling so good! You can’t go wrong with a good old bar of soap, although this one is slightly on the fancy side! It contains shea butter, which is an emollient, and vitamin E to nourish and moisturise the skin. When I saw the candle I was so happy. It’s no secret that I absolutely love candles and light one every night in my house. This candle really does smell like fresh roses, so I am looking forward to using it!

Rose isn’t a scent that I typically go for, as I prefer coconut/citrus scents, however I was surprised at how much I liked the Sugar Rose scent. It contains top notes of kumquat and mango, middle notes of plumeria, frangipani, rose and tiger lily, and base notes of vanilla orchid and coconut milk (which probably explains why I like it so much!).

I normally buy my MOR products from Myer but I think I’ll head to the flagship store to pick up some gifts this Christmas. I have a close friend who adores MOR so it will be nice to browse the entire collection.

Do you use MOR products? What is your favourite scent?

*I was kindly gifted these products for consideration. I was not paid for this post and all opinion are my own, as usual.
