This was meant to go up on Wednesday night but I’ve had a few things on this week, so better late than never I say! It’s been a super busy week with work, family commitments and the usual day to day duties, so I am really looking forward to the long Christmas break. I’ve been saving my I Heart book series by Lindsey Kelk especially for the occasion and I can’t wait to curl up with them on the couch with some tea and snacks!
My eating habits this week have been pretty sporadic. It’s been so busy at work that I haven’t really left my desk for long. Work usually winds down this time of year but not this time- the workload is heavier than ever and it doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon.
Anyway, let’s get to what I ate this Wednesday!
I’m not one of those people who wake up early, eat breakfast and go to work. My morning routine is really quick and I’m out the door in 15 minutes. I don’t eat or drink anything until I get to work. So needless to say, once I get to work I am usually pretty hungry. I bought an Emma and Tom’s smoothie and a Luv Sum protein ball once I arrived at work, and was looking forward to that, however my boss needed something urgently first thing in the morning so that’s what I worked on for the first hour. I then made my first cup of tea for the day (hooray!) and sipped on the smoothie.
I met my friends for a quick coffee catch up just before lunchtime and we all ordered chai teas, my new favourite thing!
Once I got back to my desk it was around 12-30 and I made a cup-a-soup in Tasty Tomato. I also ate the protein ball and snacked on some wholemeal Salada biscuits. It wasn’t a well planned lunch I’ll admit, but it did keep me pretty satisfied until the end of the day.
The first thing I did after I arrived home from work was make a big cup of tea and catch up on some reading. For some reason I’ve been drained every night this week; I guess my body is telling me it needs rest.
I didn’t eat until around 8pm, because I wasn’t hungry right away. My mum made some chicken schnitzel, potatoes and salad which she kindly sent me, and it was a satisfying meal. The salad had corn, tomatoes, onion and avocado, with lemon and oil as dressing. So delicious!
I ended the night with my usual mug of tea and a mango. It’s summer here in Australia so all of my favourite fruits are in season.
