Happy New Year!
It’s been a good two weeks since I last sat down and wrote a post. I caught a stomach virus over the holiday season, and between recovering from that and going to work, there wasn’t much time to focus on blogging. I also gave myself a bit of a break, because to be
honest, I was lacking motivation. I felt like my blog wasn’t going anywhere and
that nobody was reading it. Not that that’s the only reason why I blog but I
guess I felt a bit irrelevant? There are so many bloggers out there who seem to
be doing incredibly well and I felt in a way like I wasn’t. But, I do love blogging, even if I’m the only one who ever reads it and it gives me something to look forward to when I get some downtime.
Anyway, I can’t
complain as lots of exciting things happened to me in 2016 in regards to my
blog; I got sent some awesome products and services to review and attended some
really fun events. I need to get back into positive thinking and not overthinking things.
Now that’s out of the way, let’s get to the fun stuff!
Over the last few weeks I’ve used some pretty awesome products so I thought
I’d share those with you today. I am, and have always been such a product
junkie; growing up, my bathroom at home was always filled with an assortment of
products, so much that my family used to comment on my ‘Priceline’ style cabinet. My mum
used to be part of Avon and would always let me order whatever I wanted from
the catalogue, which to a teenager was always a thrill. These days, trying out
new products still excites me and I’m always on the lookout for the next best
Here are some of my new additions that I’ve added to my collection.
Eco by Sonya Driver Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub. I have been eying this off
for months and when I found myself in a health food shop this week I spotted it
on a shelf and decided to try it out. I’ve only used it once but I can see what
the fuss is all about. My skin felt incredibly smooth after use, and it did an
amazing job of scrubbing off all of the dead skin cells. I didn’t even feel the
need to use moisturiser afterwards.
Sleek A Midsummer’s Dream Eye and Lip Palette. I picked this up while I was Christmas shopping at
Target, and after seeing 20% off all Sleek products I thought it was a good
time to try it out. This is a stunning palette with the most beautiful,
wearable colours. The palette includes two blushes and four blushes in Autumn inspired shades and looks nice and natural on the skin.
Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara. I received this in my Bobbi Brown Mixed Metals Collection and only just started using it recently. This is an amazing
mascara, and is probably the best one I’ve used to date. It separates and
defines the lashes and the best part is, it doesn’t clump. I’ve used it both
day and night, and it strikes a nice balance of adding great definition without
looking like I’m wearing false lashes.
Gilded Cage Charisma Lipgloss in 83. Bellabox included a lipgloss in everyone’s box in
and we were given the choice to pick out our shade. I chose an apricot shade
because I was after an everyday, wearable shade. The lipgloss itself is very
thick and sticky, and stays on the lips for a really long time; it is hard to get off! It is infused with lots of tiny shimmer so it gives that
glittering, wet look effect. It’s a great lipgloss for the nighttime, has a
long wearing formula and comes beautifully packaged.
Organic Spa Rosehip Oil. Naturally I couldn’t finish a post without mentioning
my favourite skincare range. I wanted to add an oil to my skincare routine and
I knew Organic Spa would be a great choice, especially because I already use
their other products. This is a light, nourishing oil which is applied before
moisturiser. It’s best added at night to allow the skin time to absorb it in. It’s
probably not a product that you particularly need, however it is a nice
addition to a skincare routine, especially if you are wanting some extra
