Belle Botanicals is a brand that I came across on Instagram recently, and being an Australian made and owned brand, it immediately caught my attention. I was lucky enough to try out some of their products; the Dragons Blood Facial Mask being one of them. Face masks aren’t a product that I typically purchase for myself so it was a nice way of adding one to my collection.
The Dragons Blood Facial Mask helps to plump the skin and minimise the appearance of wrinkles. It also hydrates the skin to leave it looking smooth and youthful. I was curious to know what dragons blood actually was, and after some online sleuthing, I discovered that the proper name is Croton Lechleri Resin, and it is used in a variety of ways, one being to treat skin disorders such as eczema. My skin tends to be sensitive and to be honest most face masks irritate my skin, so much that my skin can turn red and start to feel hot and uncomfortable. I was a bit hesitant to try this mask out however after reading up on dragons blood, my worries were slightly eased!
After washing my face I applied a layer of the Dragons Blood Facial Mask to my skin, making sure to spread it evenly. The texture was smooth and easy to spread and felt quite cool on my skin. The mask smelled really good; earthy and aromatic. This is due to the combination of herbal extracts, butters and oils in the formula which produces a lovely and unique scent. The instructions advised to leave the mask on for around 15 minutes, so after setting my iPhone stopwatch I lay down and relaxed while the mask worked its magic. The mask hardened slightly but not so much that it felt tight on the skin. I washed it off with lukewarm water and it came off quite easily, except around the forehead which required a bit more effort.
Once it was all washed off, I peeked into the mirror and noticed that my skin was glowing. It looked SO good! The mask had plumped my skin and firmed it up, and my skin had a radiance I hadn’t seen for months. Even my fiancé commented on my skin, which means something as he doesn’t normally notice anything (typical male!).
I am so happy with this mask. It actually does what it promises and the fact that Belle Botanicals is Australian made, Australian owned and natural based is honestly just the icing on the cake. If you’re looking for a mask that leaves your skin glowing, plump and younger looking (and who doesn’t want that?!) the Dragons Blood Facial Mask is definitely it.
Have you tried this mask? What did you think of it?
