Hello and welcome back to another edition of unboxing my Bellabox! This post was meant to go up a few days ago but after a busy week it was pushed back to the weekend. I went to the Guns and Roses Melbourne concert on Tuesday which was EPIC! I could barely see the stage and I lost count of how many beers were tipped on me but that didn’t faze me at all; it is a Guns and Roses concert after all, the wilder the better ; ) I also went to watch Fifty Shades Darker on Wednesday night. It was pretty good, much better than the first movie in my opinion. It was a bit cliche at times however overall it had a good storyline and the two lead actors did a good job of bringing Christian and Ana to life.
Anyway, let’s get to the unboxing shall we?
The theme this month was Beauty Inside Out, and included an assortment of random samples, a couple of full sized products and some tea.
Here’s what was included:
NYX Baked Blush. These blushes are buildable, meaning it can be applied for a soft wash of colour or layered for an intense look. Every single Bellabox subscriber received one this month, and mine was in the shade ‘Full on Femme’, which is a frosty pink. To be honest, it’s not really a shade I’d ever wear as it’s quite light and shimmery and I prefer peachy/coral tones. The swatch below was applied pretty heavily as the pigmentation wasn’t great. I’m not sure if all of the NYX baked blushes have the same pigmentation; does anyone know?
Majic Beauty Eye Majic. This is an instant eyeshadow that is applied directly to the eyelid and takes the work out of applying shadow. I received this in the shade 2, which is a combination of shimmery browns and golds. I’ve never tried instant eyeshadow and while it seems a bit gimmicky I’m interested to see if it will transfer well to the eyelid.
Uspa Skincare Revital Eyes Eyelift Gel. Uspa is a Melbourne born skincare range that uses science and nature to create products for the skin. I have actually used Uspa in the past and really loved it so I was super happy to see this included. This eye gel is meant to brighten and hydrate the eye area, which is just the thing I need to get me through some sleep deprived days.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen Lotion SPF50+. This matte sunscreen is non-greasy and lightweight on the skin. I have used this product before and my skin reacted badly to it (for some reason Neutrogena does not agree with my skin) so I’m a bit hesitant to use it. I might pass it on to a friend.
Klorane Shampoo with Quinine and 8 Vitamins. Ok, this shampoo sounds amazing. It adds volume and thickness to the hair, thanks to the Quinine and 8 vitamins and also helps to strengthen the hair. I’m really liking Klorane and have used a few of their products via Bellabox. I’m looking forward to trying this out on my hair.
Twinings Morning Tea. This is a new tea blend from Twinings, and while it seems a bit of a random inclusion, I personally love it. There are four different pack designs created by inspirational women (Nicole Kidman, Carrie Bickmore, Emma Freedman and Samantha Harris) and each supports a cause. My favourite design was probably the one by Samantha Harris (it’s an Aboriginal paint design), which supports the Make A Wish foundation.
Klorane Conditioner with Pomegranate. Another generous sample by Klorane. This is targeted towards colour treated hair and helps to detangle the hair. Conditioner is a product that I never buy; I get by with samples and the ones included in hair colour packs. If anyone can recommend a conditioner for normal, thick hair please let me know!
Avon Anew Retroactive Youth Extending Day Cream SPF15+ and Night Cream. This is part of Avon’s Anew Retroactive anti ageing skincare range which helps to maintain a youthful glow. I have used Avon in the past and really like their products; they are good quality without the expensive price tag. I’m on the lookout for a night cream so this came at the right time.
This month’s box was ok- a few of the products seemed to be included for the sake of it however that’s all part of the fun of beauty box subscriptions isn’t it? The standout products for me were definitely the Uspa eye gel, Klorane hair products and the Twinings tea.
What did you receive this month? What did you like/dislike?
