I’ve been making a real effort to use products in my collection rather than buy anything new, so most of the items in this post were gifted to me rather than bought with my own money. I’ve been making a conscious effort to buy less makeup that I know I’ll never finish. While I love makeup, I don’t wear much of it so buying excess is just a waste of money. Having a minimal makeup collection sounds attractive to me, and while I can’t see myself minimising it down anytime soon, it is definitely something that I want to work towards.
Anyway, here are the products I used throughout March. I hope you enjoy!
Nature Liquid Mineral Foundation. My Arbonne foundation is slowly finishing up so I’ve been on the
lookout for a new foundation. I had been eyeing off a few, and after testing
some out I decided on the Nude by Nature Mineral Liquid Foundation. This is a fragrance free, naturally derived foundation that is buildable and contains emollients to give a perfect dewy finish. After using it, I would describe it as a medium to full coverage with a muted finish. One pump was enough to cover my face and I used my brush to apply it. However, as it has a thicker formula, a beauty blender would probably be more suitable. It did a nice job of covering my flaws (i.e. slight blemishes), although I did apply a bit more for extra coverage. As for the finish, I found it to be more matte than dewy, although this could just be my skin. It makes a nice everyday foundation, and contains lots of skin loving ingredients which is a big bonus. It also didn’t break me out.
Pot. This is one of Lush’s staple products which they’ve recently reformulated. I
was never the hugest fan of the original Charity Pot; it just seemed like any ordinary body
lotion, but the new formula is incredible. It is extra buttery (thanks to the cocoa butter and shea butter) so it feels so
luxurious when applying, not to mention the delicious scent. I can definitely see myself repurchasing this. Plus, 100% of the proceeds of each pot goes towards a charity; mine was Conservation Volunteers so it’s nice to know you’re helping someone in need!
L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil and Almond Milk Concentrate. L’Occitane are known for their
beautifully scented body products and aorable French packaging. I was given a gift pack from my mum filled with five full sized products in the Delicious Almond scent. I can’t put into words how good this range smells: the range contains extracts of almond from Provence and while almond was never a scent I would typically choose I am a convert now! I’ve been using the Almond Shower Oil every night and
it has quickly become a favourite. It starts out as an oil and transforms into a
milky, sudsy wash once it comes into contact with water. I follow it up with
some of the matching Almond Oil Concentrate, which has a decadent, whipped formula and
leaves the skin seriously smooth. The scent is delicious and lingers on the skin for hours.
Benefit They’re Real Double The Lip. This was a bonus gift with Elle magazine last month and is the reason
I bought the magazine (plus Pia Miller’s interview was um…interesting; did
anyone read it?). This is a new product
from Benefit and is a lipstick and lip liner in one. It sounds a bit gimmicky
but it actually does work, due to the shape of the lipstick itself. The colour
I received is called Lusty Rose and is a similar to an English rose shade; very pretty and quite natural
looking. The formula is smooth and glides on the lips nicely, and as for
longevity, it seemed to last a while on my lips.
So that rounds up my March products! Let me know if you’ve used any of these and what you thought of them.
Thanks for reading, as always.
