BEAUTY EDIT: April 2017 Product Round Up

Freestyle
Detangling Hairbrush
*. I was sent this hairbrush to try out and it has to be one of
the best hairbrushes I’ve used to date. Although it is a detangling hairbrush,
I have been using this every day to style my hair as it gives the nicest
results. It’s got soft bristles which give my scalp a nice massage, and glides
through my hair without tugging (my hair has broken brushes in the past). This
is a great everyday brush and as a bonus, my hair is always left shiny after
use.

Laura Mercier
Silk Crème Moisturising Photo Edition Foundation in Beige Ivory
.
My new favourite full coverage foundation, I have been wearing this nonstop
since purchase, and the only fault I have is that the shade I picked is
slightly too dark on me. However, I can still make it work if I sheer it out. I
only noticed what a difference is makes to my skin after I wore my Arbonne
Perfecting Liquid Foundation recently. The Laura Mercier is much more long
wearing on the skin and provides a beautiful, dewy finish whilst offering great
coverage.

Belle
Botanicals Cream Cleanser
*. I only started using this recently after my Clinique Foaming
Cleanser ran out. This is a gentle, mild cleanser that does a great job at
removing makeup residue and grime from the face. Because it is a cream
cleanser, it is really moisturising and doesn’t strip any oils from the skin.
If you’re interested in trying this out, you can use my discount code
ROXANEPAPA for 10% off your order. (Note: I only chose to work with Belle
Botanicals because I actually use and love their products; I’d never recommend
a product that I don’t believe in or haven’t used! You can check my disclaimer
for further details).

John Frieda
Visibly Deeper Colour Deepening Treatment
. I received this in my April
Bellabox and I was super excited to use it. My hair has been a bit dull lately
and it’s been months since I had a professional haircut and colour (my average
is about 1-2 times a year. Tragic, I know). This product is part of the
Brilliant Brunette range and deposits colour into the hair to intensify and
deepen the natural hair colour. To be honest, I did not find that this did much
for my hair. However, I think it was due to two reasons. One; I did not leave
it on for long enough and two; my hair is quite dark already, so it may not
have caught the colour properly. I will most likely try this again and leave it
on for longer to see if it makes a difference. Edit: This is meant to be
used in conjunction with the matching Colour Deepening Shampoo, which may
explain why I didn’t notice much difference. If I purchase the matching shampoo
I’ll update this post with my thoughts!

Eye of Horus
Ultimate Brow Define in Nile.
I bought this a while ago but pushed it aside once I bought the
Gimme Brow by Benefit. Lately my eyebrows have looked shapeless, especially
around the tops so I reached for this pencil to shape them a bit. Well, it made
such a huge difference that I’ve been using it every day. I use this above my
eyebrows, to give more of an ‘arched’ look (my eyebrows are naturally quite
rounded) and it is just the thing to add more definition. I also fill in some
of the patches (due to my overplucking as a teen). The result is a nice,
natural look with more definition. *The shade Nile is a medium to dark
brown shade for reference. My eyebrows are naturally dark brown, so this shade
adds great definition that looks natural. I use light, feathery strokes for a
natural look.
