Welcome to May’s product round up! I tried out a lot of new products this month as I received a couple of gift vouchers from my birthday and was also fortunate enough to have some products sent to me. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading!
The Natural Body Butter in Rose*. I already wrote a full review on my previous post, so I’ll keep
this short. This is a lovely buttery body butter that is extremely moisturising
and soothing on the skin. I like to apply it to my body in the morning, and it
does an amazing job of keeping the skin hydrated for hours. I even prefer this
to The Body Shop Body Butters, which I was obsessed with for years. Definitely
pick one of these up if you’re looking for a new body moisturiser.
Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil. I picked this up during Priceline’s 40% off sale, as my Organic Spa Rosehip Oil had finished. I apply
this every night under my moisturiser to freshly washed skin and my skin looks
so hydrated in the morning.
Paint. This was part of the Tarteist Treats pack I picked up at Sephora, and I
was surprised with how much I loved it. It has a thick, wet formula and
coats the lashes with intense black ‘paint’. I used this during the daytime and
found it a tad too dramatic; I’d save this mascara for nighttime looks.
De Lorenzo Nova Fusion Colour Care Shampoo in Cool Naturals.
This was recommended by a friend after commenting to her that my hair was
looking brassy. The sales assistant recommended the shade Cool Naturals, which reduces brassy tones in brown hair, and adds soft ash to white and grey hair. I have noticed that my brassy tones had reduced, however as I have lots of red naturally in my hair it’s not something that I can completely eliminate. Nonetheless, it’s a great shampoo to use between dyes, as it helps to preserve the colour for longer.
Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo with toning violet pigments for Blonde, Platinum or White Hair. This was a recommendation by a Youtuber to help eliminate brassy tones in hair, so I walked myself to
Priceline to pick one up. While I did notice a slight reduction in brassy tones, it didn’t
eliminate them completely. I also found it dried out my hair and left it
feeling a bit straw-like. I plan to use it about once a week from now on, and use
it alternately it with the De Lorenzo Nova Fusion Colour Care Shampoo.
Cocoa Butter Formula Dark Chocolate and Mint and Original lip balms. I picked
these up while searching for a new lip balm and absolutely love them. I prefer
the Original formula to the chocolate formula (I found the Chocolate version to be slightly drying on
the lips). Palmer’s in one of those brands that you know will just work. Plus,
who can go past all that buttery goodness?
EcoTools Perfecting Blender Duo*. Before I received these sponges, I had never used any sort of
beauty blender or sponge. Now I can see what all the fuss is about. This makeup
sponge applied my foundation evenly and gave my skin an airbrushed look, so I
am really happy with it. I’m planning to write an in depth review of this duo so I won’t go into much detail here!
As you can
see, I got through quite a few products this month! I definitely found myself with a whole bunch of new products to test and review to my heart’s content, which is always a great thing right?
