I recently added to my eyeshadow
collection by purchasing the Tarteist Treats from Tarte cosmetics, which included the Tarteist Pro to Go Eyeshadow Palette, Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara and Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in WCW. I had originally set my heart on the
full sized Tarteist Pro to Go Eyeshadow Palette, but they had been out of stock for weeks at my local Sephora store. I luckily spotted this pack and actually prefer it to the full sized palette as it’s compact, included a great selection of shades and came with a bonus mascara and lip gloss- win!
The Tarteist Pro to Go Eyeshadow Palette holds 6 shades, with
a mixture of both matte and shimmer. I would describe the shades as quite warm toned, as the majority of the shades have brown or gold undertones. What I like about this palette is the ability to mix
and match the shades and create different looks. All shades are extremely pigmented; I learnt that the hard way
when I first tried them out! After loading up my brush and applying the shade
to my eyelids I was amazed at how intense the colours are. Definitely apply
these with a light hand and build up if you need to. All shades are buttery
soft, almost creamy and apply beautifully to the eyelid.
The shade names are as follows,
along with a description:
Drive (matte). A sandy shade. This makes a great base colour.
Stylin (matte). A cooler toned chocolate shade. Perfect for adding depth to the eye.
Boss (shimmer). A beautiful copper shade. I’ve been wearing this along my lower lash line.
Hype (shimmer). A soft gold shade. Perfect to highlight the inner corners of the eyes and the browbone.
Crisp (matte). A terracotta brown. It’s how I imagine the Cocoa Bear shade from Makeup Geek to look.
Dominate (shimmer). A metallic berry/purple shade. Great for adding a pop of colour.
I like how the shades look a bit different to each other yet work really well together. I’ve been wearing a combination of Crisp, Stylin and Boss and they really make my brown eyes pop.
The Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara is extremely black, and is probably the blackest mascara I’ve ever used. I can see why it’s called Lash Paint; the mascara coats the lashes thickly and leaves them very glossy. It adds great definition to lashes and made my lashes look longer and thicker. I’d be interested in buying the full sized version as I don’t have anything like it in my collection.
The Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in WCW is a glossy, pigmented lip paint that is long wearing and gives great shine to the lips. The shade WCW is a berry shade and although I typically don’t wear darker colours, I actually really liked it on. Plus, it can be sheered out for a light wash of colour.
This was my first foray into Tarte Cosmetics and I have to say I’m impressed! All three products were really good quality and long wearing. I’d be interested to try out some more products from the range, so if you have any recommendations I’d love to hear them.
Have you ever tried anything from Tarte?
