The older I get, the more I gravitate towards skincare that
is natural based, free from harmful ingredients and actually help to improve
Years ago I’d use any old skincare product that promised to
rid or reduce acne. What I didn’t realise was that I was making my
skin worse. Instead of working with my skin, I was working against it.
When I finally started to use natural, organic skincare I
noticed a huge difference to my skin. My breakouts reduced and were kept to a
minimum because I wasn’t aggravating my skin with harmful ingredients. I also started
having regular microdermabrasion treatments and one of the brands that my
therapist recommended was the Yuva range, which I used for years.
Yuva (sanskrit for youth) is an Australian made and owned skincare company that
create skincare using naturally derived ingredients. Their products are cruelty
free, locally made and use natural ingredients to help keep the skin beautiful.
Today I’ll be reviewing the Super Cleanse and Vitamin A C E Serum by
Super Cleanse* is
an oil cleanser that aims to melt and remove makeup and grime gently yet
effectively from the skin. It contains Apricot and Rice Bran oil to thoroughly clean
the skin, Orange Oil to calm and Vitamin E to combat free radicals from
pollutants from the day.
My review: Super Cleanse was the first oil based cleanser I ever used, and I remember absolutely loving it for a number of years. After using it over the last week, it is just as amazing as I remember. I’ve been taking one pump of the Super Cleanse and massaging it over my face using circular motions. It rinses off really well and does not leave any residue behind, which is great for an oil cleanser. This cleanser removes everything with super ease. Waterproof mascara, heavy foundation; it all melts off within a matter of seconds. I really like using this as a pre-cleanse, which I then follow up with a lighter cleanser. I’d recommend the Super Cleanse if you are after an effective cleanser with none of the nasties in it.
The Vitamin A C E Serum* is part of the Yuvaceuticals range and is a targeted treatment for mature skin. It aims to target and treat the signs of ageing, increase skin texture and provide a more youthful appearance. It contains Green Tea (known for it’s anti ageing and antioxidant benefits), Chanca Piedra Extract (an antioxidant), Vitamins A (a known nutrient for healthy skin), Vitamin B (helps the skin to retain moisture and can reduce fine lines), Vitamin E (also contains basic antioxidant properties and helps to slow the ageing process), Hyaluronic acid (helps to keep skin plump and hydrated) and Rose Extract (known for its calming and healing benefits).
My review: Serums are a product that I am particularly interested in, especially as I get older. I’ver been using the A+C Serum for about a week now, and while it is still too early to detect any difference to my skin, it is a lovely serum to use and my skin does feel more taut after use. I normally apply one pump to my face at night, and pat it in. It absorbs into my skin quickly and does not feel sticky or uncomfortable in anyway. I follow up with my night moisturiser and my skin feels so nice; very hydrated and soft. I will continue to use this serum and keep you updated on my progress!
I absolutely loved using these beautiful Yuva products, which is no surprise as I’m a huge fan of natural based skincare. If you’re looking for Australian made skincare that won’t break the bank, are cruelty free and free from harmful ingredients I highly recommend checking Yuva out!
