August Bellabox

August’s Bellabox had a theme of
Bright and Beautiful and included a carefully curated selection of products for
the month. Seeing as it’s the end of winter here in Australia, the products are
the perfect to way to ease into the warmer months ahead.

Without further ado, let’s
get to the contents!

Palmer’s Cocoa Coconut
Oil Formula Conditioning Shampoo and Repairing Conditioner.
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter have been around
for years and are known for their highly emollient, deeply moisturising skin
and body products. I personally am a huge fan of Palmer’s and absolutely love
the scent of their products (I never understood why anyone would choose the
unscented version?) so when I saw that these products contained coconut oil my
attention was immediately captured. I used both the shampoo and conditioner
over the weekend and they made my hair so soft. Seeing as my hair has been
quite dry and brittle lately, this was a life saver for me. The scent is
incredible; I love the smell of coconut and I could smell this on my hair all
day long. The sample sizes are really generous so I’ll be able to enjoy using
these products for longer.

Garnier Skin Active Micellar Water. This has garnered so many favourable
reviews in the beauty community, and with good reason to. It’s a really gentle
way to remove makeup from the face and leave it soft and smooth. I’ve tried out
a few versions of miceller water and really like the Garnier version. Seeing as
I already have a bottle at home I will keep this as a backup.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oil in Showering Sunset. When I saw this in my box I was so
happy. I am a huge fan of the Burt’s Bees range and own quite a few of their
products. The Tinted Lip Oil is, as the name suggests, a tinted lip gloss that conditions and softens the lips while providing a subtle colour tint. The shade Showering Sunset is a soft peach shade and absolutely perfect for the daytime. I
’ve been wearing this to
work each morning and it coats the lips nicely and keeps them hydrated. I’m interested to try out some
more shades from this range as it’s a great lip product to wear day to day.

Sand and Sky Brilliant
Skin Detoxify and Brighten Purifying Pink Clay Mask
.
This mask has exploded all over social media lately and Bellabox generously included a sample size in every subscriber’s box. This mask contains
Pink Australian clay, which after some online sleuthing I discovered is an
essential ingredient in fighting acne (why did I not know this?). Pink
Australian clay reduces irritation and inflammation, and is rich in silica
which helps to keep skin supple and smooth. This Sand and Sky mask claims to
draw impurities and toxins from the skin, reduce redness and leave the
skin smooth and supple.
I tested it out over
the weekend as I
have had a few breakouts recently.

My first thought after applying it was that it
felt quite tingly on the skin, and I was hesitant to keep it on. After a few
seconds, the tingles subsided and I could feel the mask tightening on the skin.
The mask dries on the skin but not in an unpleasant way. After washing it off,
I was really surprised to see how calm my skin looked. The redness of my
blemishes had reduced and my skin looked clearer and smoother. Salt water
always helps to clear up breakouts so it makes sense that a salt mask would
work too. I am really impressed with this mask and would recommend it for
acne-prone skin or skin that suffers from redness. I plan to use this mask to
help reduce redness and remove oil from my skin.

I was really happy with this month’s box and felt like Bellabox did a great job of curating products to suit their subscribers. If you ever feel like the products/shades you are receiving in your box don’t quite suit you, I highly recommend updating your profile on the Bellabox website. I discovered that once I did this, I started to receive products that suited my skin type, colouring and lifestyle.

What did you receive this month?
