I can’t believe it’s been a full month since my last Bellabox review. Where has the time gone, and more importantly, how do I slow the year down before I turn another year old? Anyway I digress.
The theme for this month’s Bellabox was Beauty Trick or Treat which was very fitting for the Halloween holiday. Even though Halloween isn’t celebrated that much here in Australia, it’s still fun to get into the spooky season and enjoy all that it has to offer. I personally think it would be really fun to carve pumpkins, dress up and go hunting for candy, and luckily it seems to be taking off in Australia, especially in the last few years.
Let’s move onto the all important review!
This month’s box was jam packed with some really good quality products from brands such as Kerastase and Olive & Co. Each subscriber received an eyeshadow kit from Models Own and a Kerastase hair product, along with the usual samples and trial sized products. Here’s what was included:
Models Own Colour Chrome Eyeshadow Kit. Models Own is a UK brand that has recently landed in Australia so Bellabox very generously included a kit for each subscriber. The kit contains one eyeshadow pot, an Intensifying Eye Primer and a mixing tray. The eyeshadow is a cream formula and can either be worn on its own or mixed with the primer for a metallic shine. What I originally thought was a black shade turned out to be Emerald, a dark mossy green/black shade.I swiped the eyeshadow and holy moly it is pigmented; the colour payoff is intense and packs some serious shimmer. While it’s not a shade for the daytime, I can imagine this would look awesome for a smoky eye in the evening. These kits retail for $19.95 and Bellabox also included an exclusive offer of $5 off any Models Own product which is great.
Kerastase Paris Elixir Ultime Bi-Phase Spray Oil. Kerastase is a quality haircare range that you’ve most likely seen stocked in salons. I have used quite a few of their products out and while they are pricy, they are definitely worth the splurge to maintain beautiful, healthy hair. The Elixir Ultime Bi-Phase Spray Oil is a spray oil that can be used on either wet or dry hair and gives opulent volume and shine. It can be used as a primer on towel dried hair or as a way to tame those annoying flyways. I sprayed it directly onto my wet hair and distributed the product throughout using my hands. Once it had dried my hair looked quite bouncy and full, and noticeably shinier. As a person whose hair never seems to retain volume, I am really happy with this product and will continue to use it.
Citra & Co 24K Gold Collagen Mask. Bellabox describes this as an ‘Instagram approved’ lip and eye mask, due to the instant plumping effect it offers. This serum infused mask helps to lock in moisture to brighten tired eyes and plump the pout for instant results. I do love a good eye mask and anything that makes me look more awake is a winner in my eyes. I’m curious to try this out and see for myself what all the fuss is about.
Olive Oil Skincare Company The Original Soothing Balm. Olive Oil Skincare Company is a home grown company who use cold pressed olive oil in their product range. The Original Soothing Balm is one of those fantastic all purpose products and can be used in a variety of ways; to soothe dry skin, ease insect bites and nourish dry skin etc. I’ve been using this as a lip balm and it is incredible; my lips are so soft after use and they continue to stay hydrated. I will look into this company some more as I’d love to sample some of their other products.
Natures Commonscents Soap Bar in Coconut Oil. Natures Commonscents are a soap company who produce 100% natural, paraben free soap bars. Their soaps are made in Australia and are against animal testing. I received mine in Coconut Oil and it smells amazing. Soap is a product that is so handy to have around the house so this will be put to good use.
Sample: Lavera Basis Anti-Aging Moisturising Day Cream. Lavera is a German made skincare company who are certified natural and cruelty free. This Anti-Ageing Day Cream is targeted towards those who are 30 years old+ and helps to minimise fine lines and promote a beautiful glow. It contains ingredients such as Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Rose water and Aloe to help nourish and protect the skin. I’m curious to try Lavera out as I’ve heard good things about it.
I am really happy with this month’s box and will use the majority of the contents. As I mentioned in my previous post I am still on a hunt for a new beauty box and have the Nourished Life box in my sights; organic and natural based skincare and makeup are more my style and I’d love to try some new brands out.
What did you receive in your box? Were you happy/annoyed/bored?
