Hi friends! I’m back with another life update…or more accurately, a post
about not much at all. Feel free to skip this if you prefer makeup and product
reviews (although I like to think that someone out there wants to read about my
We recently celebrated Matthew’s birthday with some friends. First up was dinner at the Seamstress, a great restaurant and bar on Lonsdale Street, followed up with more drinks and dancing at Blue Diamond. I wore a leopard print dress from Missguided with my Wittner nude pumps and some gold jewellery- very Versace and OTT but that’s what I like! It was a really fun night out but clubbing isn’t something I can do often anymore…about half an hour in I was ready to come home to my robe and Netflix.

I’ve done some more online shopping at Missguided, who recently had 40% off all items and free standard shipping…obviously I could not resist. I bought a beautiful wrap dress, a casual tea dress which I’ve had my eye on for awhile and a simple tank top. Sometimes I get into the trap of buying clothes for my non-existent life. You know, the life we think we have as opposed to the life we actually lead? I need to remind myself that I’m more suburban housewife than Blair Waldorf, but it’s so much fun buying clothes for my imaginary life.

My America trip is less than 3 months away…eeek! I’ve made progress since my last life update post and have booked accommodation in Beverly Hills. It is a small boutique hotel in the heart of postcode 90210 and I am so looking forward to it. I have to admit that I am a bit nervous about flying on my own (I am meeting my mum in California), especially when I think about LAX. It’s such a big airport and the security can be a bit intimidating, but once I am through it is time to go crazy! And when I say go crazy, I mean shop up a storm at Sephora…LOL.
I’ve started watching Sons of Anarchy on Netflix. I’ve heard really good things about it and decided it was time to venture into the land of bikies, guns and general illegal activities. I’m onto Season 2 and am absolutely hooked, although the grisly parts really scare me…ignorance is bliss for someone like me who would rather not know that those type of things happen out there. Nonetheless, it’s great viewing and I’ve naturally developed a small crush on Jax.
A friend recently commented that women were the most attractive in their thirties, and I have to agree. The best part of ageing is the confidence you have in your own skin, as cliche as it sounds. When I compare myself now to how I was in my twenties, a lot has changed. I was a nervous wreck throughout my twenties, and I really struggled to get through them. I wish someone had told me that it does get easier. If you are in your twenties and wondering why everything is so hard, just know that it is normal and the hard times will pass! I think a big part of it is accepting parts of yourself that you might not necessarily like. For me, it was my introverted nature (I am terrible at small talk and always struggle to make conversation), lack of confidence, quick temper and indecisiveness. Nowadays I don’t try to be someone I’m not and am much more accepting of myself and my flaws. Also, the older you get the more you realise that nobody really knows what they are doing…absolutely everyone is winging it.
Anyway I think that covers my life at the moment. I have some product reviews coming up, including an exciting collaboration with Palmer’s Australia so keep an eye out for that!
