Welcome to my June favourites! I didn’t post my May favourites as I was on holidays so I’ll combine May and June in this post. I’ve barely bought any new makeup products since May as I’ve been trying to use up what I have so this post will be quite short.
I picked up the Myaura Organics All Natural Deodorant Stick in the Ylang Ylang Rose scent from Woolworths. I find it lasts all day and I don’t experience any odour which is great. I also love the beautiful scent; it smells very natural and has a subtle rose scent. So far I have loved this deodorant and plan to repurchase it.
I couldn’t go through duty free without making one purchase and I picked up the Benefit Dandelion powder in a sample size. This was the only beauty purchase I made during my holiday; I guess I couldn’t go home empty handed! I had heard great things about Dandelion and purchased it for the purpose of highlighting. It can also be used as a finishing powder and a soft blush, so I love that its a multi purpose product. It comes in a pressed powder form with a tiny brush and mirror on the lid, and the shade is a very soft, cool toned pink with flecks of tiny shimmer. I think this is best used as a blush or to highlight parts of the face which it does an amazing job of.
I was sent the Olive Oil Lipstick in High Tea by Ere Perez whilst I was away to test out. Ere Perez have recently repackaged and reformulated many of their products, including their Olive Oil lipstick range and I was super excited to test it out. High Tea is a beautiful dusty pink shade that glides on nicely and is long wearing. It has a satin like finish and the formula is hydrating on the lips, thanks to its blend of nourishing ingredients. This may be my favourite lipstick formula by Ere Perez to date as it is just so moisturising on the lips, making it perfect for the winter months. This range comes in 14 amazing, wearable colours so you’re bound to find your perfect match.
|Lond haul flight reading <3|
A few days into my trip I was craving a new book and picked up The Image of You by Adele Parks, a psychological thriller that centres around two people who meet on an internet dating site. It took a while for me to get into it and about halfway through, it got really interesting. There is a twist at the end which I worked out about halfway through so the ending wasn’t a total surprise. Nonetheless, it was an interesting read and I would recommend it as a lighthearted read (although some parts are a bit heavy).
I also picked up two new books for the long flight home; one is Among the Lemon Trees by Nadia Marks, which centres around a Greek/Engligh woman who travels to Greece whilst having marital problems. While it was an enjoyable book, I did find some parts to be slightly dull and I struggled to stay interested. The story goes back and forth between the present and the past, and I found the latter to be more interesting as it centred around World War 2. Nonetheless it was an easy read for a long haul flight and I’d recommend it if you’re after a lighthearted read.
The other book I purchased is called Villa of Secrets by Patricia Wilson and centres around a Greek/English woman who travels to Rhodes (notice a theme here?) for a family emergency. I am yet to read this novel however I’ll provide an update once I do!
What else do you do on long haul flights besides read? Watch movies of course! I watched all three of the Pitch Perfect movies which were so funny. I am a huge Rebel Wilson fan and absolutely love her dry sense of humour so these were really enjoyable for me. I also watched Murder On The Orient Express which was amazing and had me on the edge of my seat, along with The 15:17 to Paris, a movie based on real events about the attempted terrorist attack on the Thalys train from Amsterdam to Paris. This was a great movie and when I later googled it, I discovered that the three main actors in the film were the actual men who had been on that train and had helped to bring the terrorist down. Amazing right?
I think that about covers everything and let me know if you have any recommendations on products/books/films!
