July Favourites

I trialled a couple of new products during July thanks to two subscription beauty boxes; Bellabox and Nourished Life. Despite my plans to only have one beauty box, I can’t bring myself to cancel either one as I’ve really been enjoying them lately (especially Bellabox). So needless to say I am in a dilemma and one has to go, but which one? Overall I have to say that Bellabox have a better range of products however I really love the natural based skincare included in the Nourished Life boxes.

So now that we have that out of the way let’s get to my favourites!

Ere Perez Cacao Lip Colour in Hoopla is on the right!

So a standout product for me during July was the Ere Perez Cacao Lip Colour in Hoopla*. This is a long lasting, sheer tint lipstick that comes in a great range of neutral shades. Hoopla is described as a warm nude and that’s exactly what it is. It is very much a ‘my lips but better’ shade and I’ve been reaching for it every single day. I find that it’s a great way to add colour to the face without feeling too over the top. **Update: this lipstick melted in my handbag and is completely smashed up so I will be purchasing a replacement as I love it that much!

I received the Madara SOS Hydra Recharge Cream in my Nourished Life box (full review here) and while I’m still in the process of trialling it out, I’ve really enjoyed it so far. It has been a nice way to add hydration to my skin during the colder months (this year I’ve really noticed my skin has become drier). I normally apply it at night before bed.

I bought a couple of new books over the last month to snuggle up with during the cold nights. I came across Her Pretty Face by Robyn Harding (who is also the author of The Party, a book I read awhile ago) and I was instantly hooked! The book follows a friendship between two women and after a while things take a sinister turn. This storyline had me on the edge of my seat and I could not put it down; I think I devoured it within a weekend! Lately I’ve really been into psychological thrillers and crime and this was a good novel choice for a newbie.

The second book I read was The One Who Got Away by Caroline Overington. It centres around a woman who goes missing on a cruise ship whilst holidaying with her husband. The story is told from the perspective of a few characters and the author weaves the perfect story to keep the reader guessing. I worked out who the culprit was towards the and of the book however nothing prepares you for reading it in black and white! I would highly recommend this novel if you enjoy a suspenseful read. Caroline Overington is an Australian journalist and author and I’ve read a few of her books so I knew I’d enjoy this one.

I think that about covers all of my July favourites! Let me know what your favourite products were!
