I’ve made a conscious effort over the last few months to use up my current makeup before purchasing anything new and so far it has been pretty successful. I am still continuing to replace basics such as foundation and eyebrow pencils (which I go through so quickly!) however for other items I am using what I have. Wastage has become more important to me over the last few months and I am mindful to use what I have before cluttering my life (and planet) with anything I don’t really need.
That’s not to say that I don’t enjoy new beauty products of course! I was lucky to be gifted with some new products over christmas and today I will be sharing these with you. I also made a Strawberry Net purchase during the Boxing Day sales which you will read about below (I am still waiting on these to be delivered so I’ve used images from StrawberryNet).
Here’s what I was gifted with during Christmas!
Too Faced White Peach Eyeshadow Palette. My friend surprised me with this new palette from Too Faced and it is so beautiful. It contains a mixture of 12 matte, shimmer and glitter shades in an assortment of sparkling peach, champagnes, soft pinks and deep plums that are all scented with the scent of peach and sweet fig; heavenly! I am really loving the colour combination of this palette and love how they can all be mixed for different looks. Versatility in a palette is really important to me and I feel Too Faced have nailed it with this one. It also comes with a little how-to guide on different looks that can be created using the palette which I found incredibly helpful.
Fresh Sugar Carry On. This set contains the Sugar Caramel Hydrating Lip Balm, Sugar Honey Tinted Lip Treatment SPF15 and the Sugar Lip Treatment Advanced Therapy all in miniature sizes. I am loving this set and find I reach for the Sugar Caramel Hydrating Lip Balm the most. Not only does it keep my lips silky smooth, it tastes delicious too.
Mecca Cosmetica Illuminating Body Oil. My 11 year old nephew gifted this to me for KK and I was so happy to receive it. It is a hydrating body oil with fine shimmer throughout so it’s perfect to enhance a tan or add a little something extra at night. It also smells so good, not to mention the packaging is right up my alley. I plan to take this with me to Byron Bay next month.
Ted Baker Makeup Case. This was probably my favourite gift this year. I have been coveting Ted Baker’s makeup cases for the longest time so when my friend surprised me with one I was sooo happy! Mine is a cream and rose gold colour combination and 100% my style. It has a lot of room and I plan to take it with me whilst travelling as it can fit so much in. I’m just as happy to keep it on my bathroom bench and just look at it as it’s so pretty!
And here’s my Strawberry Net purchases.
Laura Mercier Creme Brûlée Body Souffle. I have wanted this for years and finally bit the bullet and bought it for myself. Yes it is expensive and I have a million other moisturisers already but I just had to have this. I definitely did my research and shopped around to find the best price. As you may know, Laura Mercier is no longer stocked in Australia however some online stores still stock the line. I found an even cheaper deal from Strawberry Net and because I was a new member I received 20% off an already discounted price so it ended up being a great deal. Body lotion is one thing I have not bought in months so I didn’t feel too guilty buying this as I know I’ll use it.
Laura Mercier Silk Creme Moisturising Photo Edition Foundation. I finally finished my first tube and knew I had to restock; this is a great foundation for nightime as it’s designed specifically for photography. My skin always looks flawless when I wear this and for someone who’s suffered with skin problems for years this is saying something! Like the Creme Brûlée Body Souffle, I got it at a great price.
So that round up all of my recent beauty additions! I always like seeing makeup hauls from other bloggers so I hope you enjoyed this.
Thanks for reading and be sure to check back as I have a lot more posts planned for 2019!
