Next month Matthew and I are going on a week long holiday to Byron Bay and I cannot wait! We are flying into the Gold Coast and spending one night there which I’m so excited for and will then drive to Byron Bay for a week of sun and fun. While I love going overseas there is something so simple and easy about staying in Australia; there’s no need to convert currency, no jet lag up deal with and it’s so easy to get around your own country than somewhere new. Sometimes you just want a relaxing holiday without the stressful bits so needless to say I am really looking forward to it.

I am one of those weird people who look forward to packing so I thought I’d give you a peek inside my cosmetic case.

Here’s what beauty products are coming with me!

BB Cream. I am taking Organic Spa’s Beauty Balm in Fair and might also pack the Medium shade as I plan to tan. This is one of my favourite BB creams as it offers decent coverage and doesn’t irritate the skin.

Mascara. I’ve been using Maybelline’s The Colossal Big Shot Volum’ Express over the last few months and I gotta say that it’s one of my favourites to date. It turns my medium length lashes into length spidery ones and better yet, it doesn’t smudge under my eyes. I plan to pack this with but that all depends on whether I get eyelash extensions before the trip; I’ve been toying with the idea as I haven’t had them for months.

Lipstick. My current go-to shade is Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea lipstick in Beach Waves, the ultimate 90’s brown nude shade. I may also pack Salt Lyfe, which is a nude berry shade and literally suits any look.

Bronzer. It’s a no brainer that I’m packing Tarte’s Park Ave Princess Bronzer as it’s so effortless and gives me a nice glow.

Highlighter. I am taking Colourpop’s Crush on You highlighting palette as it can be used as both a face highlighter and eyeshadow. All four shades are super soft and highly pigmented and come housed in a cute little compact.

Eyeshadow. I am taking one single eyeshadow with me as I can use the highlighting palette for my eye as well. Colourpop’s Super Shock Shadow in Cornelious as it’s matte and can be used to create a smoky eye.

Eyeliner. Eyeliner is a product that I just started to use recently and my go-to at the moment is Mellow Cosmetics Precision Pen Eyeliner. This is super easy to apply and I normally apply it along my lower lash line and extend it outwards to a flick to elongate my eye shape. It’s black but not too dark and it has a really thin tip so the line is subtle; heavy eyeliner does not suit me at all.

I will be fitting all of this inside my Ted Baker makeup pouch as it has a ton of space. I’ll also pack my skincare products inside as well as some toiletry items like my toothbrush/toothpaste, makeip wipes, deodorant etc.

What do you pack for beach holidays? Do you keep makeup to a minimum or include everything?

xo Roxane.
