Wow it has been soooo long since my last letter from the editor post.
I mean, I kept meaning to write one, and then covid happened and then that was all we could focus on.
So hello and welcome back!
I was so naive at the start of the whole covid outbreak back in March. I thought we’d be working from home for a couple of weeks, maybe a bit longer but never expected to still be doing this in September 2020. It feels like this has been going on forever, and now with Victoria’s strict lockdown measures there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. I am trying to stay positive and grateful but at the same time it has been really hard to not let it affect me mentally. Plus there have been other things going on in my life that are not so good so it has been a snowball effect.
So how is everyone else feeling? What are your thoughts on the pandemic? How has it impacted you?
In other news…
Oh! I got Invisalign. In case you’re not familiar about what that is, it’s basically a set of clear aligners you wear to straighten your teeth. I had braces in high school but stupidly didn’t wear my retainer much so my teeth moved. Plus teeth move with age so some of my teeth became crooked. I am almost through with them (currently up to aligners #17 of #19) and honestly can’t believe how straight my teeth are! Although my teeth weren’t that bad, it was something I was super self conscious about and just wanted them fixed. I plan to put up a review on my Invisalign journey as I personally find teeth straightening fascinating. It actually worked out great to have them during isolation (which was not planned by the way) as I don’t have to worry about taking them out in public, cleaning them etc. Being home makes it so easier to have Invisalign. I am excited to share my results with you!
One thing I completely gave up during lockdown was makeup. Obviously I don’t wear it at home as what’s the point, however I definitely wasn’t one of those girls who put on a face of makeup to get work ready. However, I’ve been experimenting with lipsticks a lot more now that my teeth are straight.
At the time of posting this, Victoria is 2 weeks away from Stage 4 restrictions easing. It will be interesting to see what the government has in store for opening up Victoria. I don’t want to get my hopes up however as I know it will be awhile before we have some normalcy.
What has everyone been up to?
