If you’ve ever been to a skin clinic you may have seen Skinstitut products on display.
Skinstitut is a results driven skincare brand that addresses a range of skin conditions. They believe that a consistent, regular skincare routine can lead to healthier skin for everyone.
I personally love maintaining a good skincare routine so when Skinstitut reached out to me with a personalised kit I was very keen to try their range. Being a former acne sufferer, I know the importance of a good routine (something I didn’t stick to in my twenties as all I wanted was a quick fix!) and how consistency is the key to beautiful, healthy skin.
After completing a short online survey, I was matched to products geared towards dry skin. Now that I am in my thirties, my skin is a lot more drier than it used to be so products that add hydration back into the skin is important.
Here is what I received:
L-Lactic Cleanser. This cleanser is amazing. Firstly, it is huge and will last a really long time. It contains lactic acid which helps with skin regeneration and to promote a youthful glow. You only need a tiny bit of this to effectively clean the skin. I usually use it at night to remove any makeup and grime and my skin is left super clean afterwards. I also find that my skin is less red and more calm after using it. Priced at $49.00
Enzymatic Micro Peel Soothing Micro Exfoliant. This exfoliant was created for people with dry, sensitive skin and who typically find classic ‘grainy’ scrubs too harsh. It is a very gentle peel that uses plant enzymes to lightly recondition the skin whilst soothing it at the same time. Plus, it can also be used as an overnight mask for very dry skin or those who suffer from eczema; got to love a multi use product! I have to admit that at first I didn’t think this would work on me as I’m used to the typical gritty exfoliators. However, I was surprised at how well it worked on my skin. It left it super smooth and calm and the texture of my skin was great! While I still prefer my gritty exfoliators, I reach for this one when my skin is feeling a bit sensitive. Priced at $49.00
Moisture Defence Ultra Dry. The name of this doesn’t lie; it is super moisturising and perfect for those with very dry skin (i.e. me). It has a very soothing formula and I apply this right after exfoliating when the skin is prepped. Again, my skin was calm and there was no irritation which was great. I use this at night as I like a heavier moisturiser while I sleep. I would recommend this moisturiser for those with very dry skin and mature skin. Priced at $49.00
Repair Balm. This is described as an intense recovery balm and that’s exactly what it is. It is a great all purpose balm that can be applied to the face and cracked/dry skin on the body. I apply this at night over my moisturiser if I feel like my skin needs an extra boost of moisture and it works really well. It also smells really good! Priced at $49.00
Multi- Active Oil. This oil is made up of a bunch of nourishing oils and instantly soothes the skin. This was my second favourite product (after the cleanser) as it worked really well on my dry skin. I usually mix this with my moisturiser and apply it at night and my skin is so soft afterwards. Priced at $49.00
I found the Skinstitut range to be highly effective. You will see results after using the range, you just need to stick to it and maintain the routine. Personally, I did find my skin felt more hydrated after using the products and it was definitely softer. I wish I had taken before & after photos as it would have been great to see the difference. I also found the price to be reasonable, considering the size of the products and effectiveness overall.
Overall I would recommend the Skinstitut range if you have a specific skin issue you would like to address, whether it be dry skin, acne, redness etc. The products work in conjunction with one another so if you stick to them you will start to see results.
Have you tried anything from the Skinstitut range? What did you think?
Note: I recently placed an order for some more Skinstitut products so be sure to keep an eye out for a review.
