Coming out of lockdown…

So it is currently Friday night and Melbourne is officially out of the world’s longest lockdown.

I am just about to log off from work and enjoy a bowl of pasta- yum! This week has been incredibly busy at work and I am really trying to get through one day at a time.

It feels really weird to not have a curfew and be able to go anywhere we like. I think it will take some time to get used to it.

It’s now Saturday night and I’m at home on the couch, with a blanket and cup of tea.

Earlier Matthew and I went to one of our favourite Italian restaurants in the city, Tipo 00 for lunch. I thought I’d share some photos of the yummy food we had.

Entree of oysters and stuffed zucchini flower (for me). Matthew had calamari.

Followed by a main of spanner crab risotto (I didn’t realise I’d ordered risotto, my eyesight is terrible yikes) but it was delicious nonetheless! I also had this salad but could only manage a bit! Matthew had duck gnocchi which he loved.

We then shared tiramisu for dessert, tea (for me) and coffee for Matthew. We were so stuffed afterwards!

Also, their drinks are so good! I had an orange spritz and Matthew had some sort of orange cocktail. Both were really nice and light; I really don’t like the taste of alcohol in drinks!

I’d also booked a bar afterwards and even though we were both super tired we decided to go. It was one of those hole in the wall bars called 1806 but when we entered, it was so fancy inside. The hostess took us up to their ‘secret room’ which was a second bar downstairs as their main bar was booked (only because we were an hour early). This room was amazing! It was small and dimly lit (I couldn’t see the menu ha ha) and was filled with velvet chairs, dark furniture and candles everywhere.

Their cocktails are created on countries around the world. I had the ‘Sri Lanka’ cocktail which was made up of coconuts (so delicious!) and Matthew had the ‘Cuba’ cocktail which was fruity. They were both really good but strong!

And here is me. I always look so awkward in photos ha ha.

It was really nice to get out and about and support some of the smaller businesses in Melbourne. We left the city around 6-30 and it was starting to get really busy which was great.

Have you been anywhere fun lately?

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy this type of lifestyle post!

Roxane.
